Buckhead – Once More
Some months back I needed a title image for a presentation on architectural photography. I went into my archive looking for an unpublished photo and came across the one used here. Since it also showed lots of windows I put a copy into my folder for Monday Window.
It has been sitting there. I just couldn’t figure out how to make best use of it. Vertical images don’t play well as “featured image”. There is no way to know what part of it anybody will see. Cropping out a horizontal section was my decision – just what part?
Well, here are three different crops. And, at the end the original and also a “Perspective adjusted” version.
Well, I think each one has some merit. Which one would you use?
The two imgages above are in a “tiled gallery”. It won’t go wide like the individual photos above, and the “lightbox” views are rather pathetic. WordPress keeps “improving” – I just wish they’d get somebody with a bit of talent and artistic ability to do their image handling. So let’s trick the system:
Monday Window is a weekly blog post challenge featuring one or more photos of windows, prominently or as the main subject. Please see the sidebar.
Please visit the participating blogs. You will be delighted and astounded by the rich and imaginative offerings by the bloggers from around the world.

I like them all, but particularly the third one. It seems to focus the eye most on the reflections, which I like. Here’s mine: https://margaret21.com/2020/10/12/my-yoga-window/. I agree about WP and photos- if’s all a bit hot and miss, isn’t it?

I agree with you, Margaret. The third one has more interest and variety. I don’t know about WP, they don’t seem to believe in making things work the same way everywhere. Must have 3-year-olds in mind as their target users.

Oh, I can deal with being a three year old. Just not with being a non-techie who has different changes to face each time I log on.

I had planned something else for today but that post will now wait in the wings for another week. Instead I link to yesterday’s post for One Word Sunday. The prompt was “bright” – after seeing your entry today how could I not? https://picturesimperfectblog.wordpress.com/2020/10/11/on-a-bright-day/
And I do like your first crop best, the one with more sky than the others. It conveys more the sense of height and “looking up”.

Yeah, eklastic, when seen alongside of your marvelous views of Frankfurt, the one with the sky fits in best. I had no idea how much influence I have. No I will have a swelled head all day. Thanks!

Something very strange is going on. I get a message that my reply has failed. About half a dozen times today. When clicking the Like button a rectangle flashes up – no idea what message it might contain. My avatar is not added but it shows that I liked a post. Maybe I will shut everything down and start overr. It must be one of those Mondays.

Definitely would go with the building that has the balconies

Balconies are nice. I have been looking to see if anyone is using them whenever we are driving by. But I guess those are not the time when folks relax.

Hi Ludwig, my preference is the first one showing the top of the building, dunno why but I was attracted to the left hand side building showing the ledge. Here is mine for this week…a very iconic window! https://mywanderings.travel.blog/2020/10/13/windows-inside-the-notre-dame/
