Attic Window
My plan was to republish some more of my early Monday Window images, but there was an interruption. An unusual noise stopped my work. It seemed to be coming from the attic.
Sure enough visitors had managed to get into our house. No, it wasn’t squirrels this time. We had solved that problem years ago.
It was vultures. When we got to the attic they had moved to the window at the end and were trying unsuccessfully to get out through the glass pane.
That made that ordinary, commonplace window the topic for this week.

Yes, we managed to get past them without too much commotion and open the window. They studied the outside, as if contemplating whether they really wanted to leave, but left without so much as a goodby.

I like attic windows. That one taken from the back is a lovely capture and very clear!

How fantastic! I’m a big fan of vultures, though maybe not in the house.

I love the close-up of those two in profile! But: so many (bad) jokes come to mind about having vultures coming to visit! In any case, not the best PR if you announce that in the neighbourhood 😉 –> https://picturesimperfectblog.wordpress.com/2021/03/22/windows-used-for-pr/

I would have totally freaked to find a couple of buzzards in my attic! You got some great shots of them, but they are frightfully ugly. Yet when they are in flight, they look quite majestic. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks, Teresa. I was fumbling a bit before I got a decent shot. Guess I should do a lot more practicing.

It does take the edge of being a fan when they just come in uninvited. Well, the entry has been closed securely ….

Thank you, eklastic. I hope this episode will be the last of those critters coming into the house. Temporary fix is in place. The welcome mat has been pulled in. 😉

An impressive place! Wonderful to see that people around the world have the same tastes, yet still retain their ways.

Well, we were too stunned to freak out. It was quite a surprise. Actually, when you give them a chance they look pretty interesting. Hope my next encounter will be outside! Thank you, Russell.
