Monday Window – January 20, 2020

Cafe Window

We have a new cafe in town. I attended the grand opening, this is the plain window at the front.

As I was photographing the event and wanted to retain the ambiance of the place, I did not use flash. Photographing this window from the much darker inside presented a challenge. Using a tripod was not feasible, so no multiple exposures and HDR stacking. I decided on a setting that would overexpose the outside and underexpose the inside, then I processed the image as “cafe art” – fitting enough!

Here is the little cafe, of course, also in “cafe art” processing.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to just tease. Yes, there were people there. Yes, there was a grand opening, here, I’ll show you.
